Pattern Canada
With proven expertise and a strong presence in the region, Pattern Canada is an experienced, agile, and collaborative partner for the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.
Our Approach
Pattern Canada is committed to transparency and environmental stewardship. Its approach is built on the development of sustainable projects, collaboration with local communities and First Nations, as well as strategic partnerships to develop and operate wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage projects.
We also participate financially in the various projects, in addition to overseeing their development, construction, and operation.
Our Projects in Quebec
Pattern Canada contributes to the development of wind energy in Quebec through two flagship projects in the Chaudière-Appalaches region: the Mont Sainte-Marguerite Wind Farm and the Broughton Project.
Mont Sainte-Marguerite
Location: Saint-Séverin, Saint-Sylvestre, and Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus
Project status: In operation
Installed capacity
- 147 MW
Number of turbines
- 46
Investment
- $300M
Pattern Canada worked closely with the municipalities of Saint-Séverin, Saint-Sylvestre, and Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus, which actively participated in the development of the project.
Since commissioning in 2018, Pattern Canada has been operating the Mont Sainte-Marguerite Wind Farm.
Broughton
Location: Municipalities of Saint-Pierre-de-Broughton, Sacré-Cœur-de-Jésus, and Thetford Mines
Project status: In development, commissioning planned for 2029
Capacity
- 180 MW
Number of turbines
- 29
The Broughton project is an equal partnership (50/50) between Pattern Canada and a coalition of partners including:
- the MRC des Appalaches
- the MRC de l’Érable
- the Odanak Abenaki Council
- the Wôlinak Abenaki Council
Local Benefits
The wind farms will generate significant benefits for local communities.
During the development, construction, and operational phases, the projects create substantial investments and contributions for the communities.

Partnerships with
First Nations
In addition to being a member of the First Nations Major Projects Coalition, Pattern Canada plays a leading role in establishing partnerships with First Nations communities.
The Henvey Inlet First Nation entered into a partnership with Pattern Canada in 2014 to jointly develop, build, and operate the Henvey Inlet Wind Farm. With an installed capacity of 300 MW and its own electricity transmission line, this wind project is the largest in Canada in which First Nations participate as equal partners.
Associations
Global Expertise Driving Local Proficiency
With nearly 6,000 MW of operating capacity and a development pipeline totaling 29 GW, Pattern Energy is recognized as one of the world’s largest developers and operators of renewable energy.
SunZia, a Landmark Project
Pattern Energy developed the largest renewable energy infrastructure project in the United States.
Located in New Mexico, SunZia includes more than 3,500 MW of wind energy as well as an 885 km transmission line, helping meet the growing electricity demand in the western United States, particularly in Arizona and California.
The experience, agility, and rapid execution capabilities required to develop this large-scale project provide a unique expertise that can help accelerate the delivery of major energy projects in Québec.
